Remit of the group
The Exchange Group is an extension of the PPI/E work that CLAHRC North West London and patient partners have been doing over the last 5 and half years. The aim is to formalise and structure involvement more clearly around an assets based approach, building capacity and leadership with a reciprocal element that fully acknowledges and rewards individual’s contributions in a variety of ways. This is a work in progress (Autumn 2014). The Design Group have recently agreed the following statement to describe the purpose of the Exchange Group:
The Exchange Group exists to assist NIHR CLAHRC North West London to achieve its aims of seeing research translated into practice by:
- creating spaces that enable dialogue, collaborative working and the transformation of relationships
- developing, utilising and recognising all assets and resources available to it in the spirit of co-production.
In this way, CLAHRC will increase its organisational capacity to improve health care services by providing opportunities for personal capacity to develop and potential to be realised amongst the individuals who engage with its work. This will be replicated wherever possible throughout North West London and beyond, leading to more sustainable quality improvement and enhanced patient and staff experience. September 2014.
The Exchange Group will work across both mental and physical health care and wellbeing.
Frequency of meetings
