Jo is an experienced mental health trainer and campaigner. She set up the mental health promotion team at Rethink Mental Illness in 2006, and currently leads the children and young people’s anti-discrimination programme at Time to Change, working jointly with Mind. She is an accredited Mental Health First Aid trainer and has worked to empower people with lived experience to be at the forefront of mental health education for many years. As head of innovation at Rethink Mental Illness, Jo oversaw the delivery of the Big Lottery Funded “Uthink” programme, a recovery based learning programme for 14-15 year olds, as well as setting up the first youth panel within the charity. Jo is well versed in mental health research (both methodology and the value of research to the field) and has key skills in project and people management.
